Due diligence refers to the reasonable efforts a process server must make to effect personal or substituted service before resorting to alternative methods like conspicuous place service. This typically includes multiple attempts at different times and days, and is documented in detail to satisfy court requirements.

Standard service typically takes 3-5 business days, though this can vary depending on the availability of the defendant. We also offer rush service (24-48 hours) and same-day service for urgent matters. Complex cases involving evasive defendants may require additional time and due diligence efforts.

If initial attempts are unsuccessful, we document all efforts as part of due diligence. Depending on the situation, we may recommend alternative service methods, skip trace services to locate the defendant, or provide affidavits supporting a motion for alternative service. An affidavit of service is a sworn legal document that provides detailed proof that service was completed.
